As with John Wick, David Leitch once again combines a genuinely bobbling action with a very stylish production with Atomic Blonde. The battle scenes from one man to the next, or from one man to the other, are of an intensity that hurts when watching. Something like this was last seen in David Cronenberg’s Mafiadrama Deadly Promises. However Leitch goes even further than Cronenberg, by the Fights partly forever to the bitter end.
In the process, Charlize Theron, a hard-working M16 agent, Lorraine Broughton, gets some bad bruises. Nevertheless, the Australian never mutates to the monster, but always remains as sexy as ice-cold blonde.
